JUSTICE IS FINALLY SERVED

So back in November some guy tried to break into my house, almost got in. It was a horrifying event. Thankfully they got the guy, he did get out on bond, but was later rearessted. He was offered a plea agreement, and thank god he took it, saving me the agony of having to testify in court. Dont want to have to relive that day. Tuesday was the sentencing hearing for him. When all was said and done he got 5 years in prison and 3 years probation. Now this wasnt all for the one crime. He had commited 3 other similar crimes and they combined them all. I was happy that he is off the streets, but I was outraged to hear the guys lawyer up there, telling the judge that it was the drugs and alchohol that made him do the things that he did. That is just an excuse in my eyes, But the judge didnt want to hear that excuse eiather. He had some very harsh words for the guy. I'm glad that the judge saw threw the excuses. I was impressed because the guy did apologize to his family (cuz the judge made him) then to me (did that on his own). All in all I am happy that it is all over and i can finally move on with my life and hopefully with him being in jail i can try and get passed this. Guess we will have to wait and see.
